Every empirical research involves compliance with research ethics principles. In particular educational science, social science or psychological research, which generate sensitive, personal dara, need to be aware of those principles. However, many scientists find themselves caught between the conflicting interests of science and the protection of the people involved in the specific research.

The workshop focuses on major topics of research ethics. Specific peculiarities of research ethics concerning f. ex. the planning, execution and publication of results will be addresses. Possible ways of dealing with them will be presented. After a general insight, examples of research ethics dilemmas will be discussed among the participants.

A few places are still available for the workshop. Participation is free of charge. The workshop will take place under the direction of Daniel Müller.
